DESIGN NOTES
Extraction honors the worker over the industrialist. The archival image is inverted to disturb the original hierarchy and reject the exploited glorification of power. The piece shifts focus away from the man who profited and toward the labor that made his position possible. The worker is the foundation. The worker is the structure. The worker is the reason anything existed to extract.
That inversion is intentional: not to disorient the worker, but to overturn the gaze that usually centers the powerful. What remains is a record of burden, dignity, and the human cost beneath industry.
